Update Profiles in Workflows

Update Profiles in Workflows

From on-boarding new volunteers to following up with first-time visitors, Workflows has become a central hub of productivity and organization for many churches who use Planning Center People. Today’s update is going to help you maximize your time while using this feature! One of the most common practices we see in Workflows is a step dedicated to updating a person’s profile, like changing a membership status or adding someone to a volunteer team in Services. This profile-updating step is s

Digest Email for Notes

Digest Email for Notes

Notes is designed to help you keep track of important information about the things going on in the lives of your congregation, including their needs, struggles, and ministry interest. Collecting information is only half of the job, though; the other half is bringing people into the loop so they can love, support and pray. People can submit prayer requests, and you can continue storing them in Notes, but what is the point if the requests never get to the people who pray? To make the proc

Emergency Contact Field in Registrations

Carson ate the craft project at VBS—a solid half pound of slime, toothpicks, and flannel. Who do you call? In the rare case an emergency occurs on your watch, we want to make sure you have the right contact information at your fingertips. Introducing the brand new Emergency Contact field in Registrations! The Emergency Contact field is an Attendance Types setting, which means you can set the field as required, optional, or hidden. When a person goes through the registration process, they c

Manned and Self Stations for Registration Events

Last year we released an integration between two of our applications, Check-Ins and Registrations. This integration allows you to check people into an event you created in Registrations using a Roster Station in Check-Ins. Today, the Check-Ins and Registrations teams announce a stronger integration with all station types in Check-Ins, which means you now have options. If you use a Roster Station in Check-Ins, you can call out roll “clipboard style” from a list of all your attendees, which

Improved Registration Flow

Improved Registration Flow

One of the most important purposes of Registrations is to help your church’s event sign up process be as quick and as easy as possible. In response to your feedback about the public side of registering for an event, we made some big changes! Before After Mobile Friendly Out with the old, in with the new, and voila! By removing the sidebar we have a streamlined process on all mobile devices with consistent button placement and design, less overall scrolling, and no side-to

A New Way to Manage Groups

A New Way to Manage Groups

A few weeks ago we announced that group leaders are now able to log into the administrative side of Planning Center Groups in order to take advantage of the new Attendance Report. This was the first step in giving group leaders more powerful tools to help manage their groups. Today we are excited to officially start transitioning leaders from managing their groups on Church Center to Planning Center. Why are we making this change? Planning Center and Church Center are not the same

New Campus Dropdown on People Profiles

This morning when we released our brand new profile page in Planning Center People, we snuck a new feature in with it: a Campus dropdown so you can track what campuses the people in your church attend! You will see two new small features in People: a list condition to help filter lists by campus assignments, and a shiny widget on your dashboard to show you how your campus assignments compare to each other. But this is only the beginning! Now that campuses are built into profiles, y

Shared Conflicts

Shared Conflicts

Last summer we released a feature to help you handle conflicts on Planning Center Resources. A Conflict Resolver allows you to choose one event over the other when they request the same room or resource. But what if a church’s cafe is big enough to handle two Bible studies at the same time? What if a women’s lunch and a youth worship night both want to use the gym and sound board on the same day, but the times overlap only for one hour during teardown and setup? In these circumstances, you

Attendance Type Filters

The Jr. High Dodgeball night is coming up, and we have this problem where all the moms think they can sign up for the event. Alright moms, back off, this event is for the kids. With Attendance Type Filters, you can make sure the right people sign up for the right attendance types for your event! Starting today, you can require a grade, age, or gender filter for any attendance type. When a new person starts to register for an event, Registrations will immediately ask what the required f

A Sneak Peek at the New People Profile Page

The profile page in our People application is getting a makeover! Here is a sneak peek of the updated design, along with the three biggest benefits coming to you on May 1st! Less Scrolling One of the goals of our redesign is to make all of the most important information about every person in your church immediately visible as soon as you enter their profiles. We consolidated some of this information into three dropdowns on the top of the page, as well as a new section on the right sid

New Reports for Notes

Today’s People update is a quick one: we made changes to Notes to make it an even better way for you to stay on top of what’s going on with the people in your church. We’ve added a new option to filter your notes by date, in addition to the existing Category and Campus search filters. We also created a nicely formatted print view so that you can easily print the notes matching your current filter, just click the print button on the right hand side to generate the report. Edit Stations with Station Keys

Maybe you have had the experience of arriving to church before check-in time to make sure everything is ready to go...only to discover that none of the Stations are set properly. Little hassles like this with your Stations can turn into big problems! You need a fast, easy, and secure way to change those Station settings on the fly. Introducing Station Keys: a new way to edit station settings!   As of today all Check-In Stations have an icon at the bottom right of the screen, whic

Donor Email Preferences

Today we're excited to release new email settings to give your donors control over their email notifications in Planning Center Giving. This includes things like donation receipts, statement deliveries, and account alerts. This might be especially useful for church staff who mostly use Planning Center with their work em

Service Types and Reports

Service Types are one of the key organizational units in Planning Center Services: the container for your plans (usually weekly), teams, and templates. We’ve consolidated multiple popups into a new Service Type page, making each feature easier to find and use. Plus, we’re throwing in some new and updated reports we think you will love. Tracking Disputed Donations

Tracking Disputed Donations

Although it's not common, it's possible for donors to file disputes about the charges they see on their bank statements. The dispute process is initiated at the donor's bank and moderated by the payment processor, Stripe. While this is fairly commonplace in the retail environment, it's rare that donors file this type of dispute without first contacting their church. How rare is it? In Planning Center Giving, only one in every 65,466 donations is disputed. Even though disputes are uncommon,

Organize Lists by Campus and Category

Having to scroll through and scan all of the Lists in your People account is not the end of the world, but it is also not the most efficient way to find the list you want. The time you spend scrolling and scanning is also time, however short, you could be spending on the people in the list you are trying to find. Small amounts of time add up to big chunks, and we want to give you as much time as we can, so similar to what we did with Workflows, Lists can now be organized by Campus and Cate

Improved Donation Tracking

Improved Donation Tracking

We track a lot of information for each and every donation in Planning Center Giving. We use “stamps” to efficiently communicate details about a donation’s lifecycle: where the donor gave, how they paid, the current status of the donation, and more. Goodbye "Pending" Stamp As an administrator in Giving, one of the biggest frustrations is to see that a donation is pending and not know why. Today, we say goodbye to the “pending” stamp, and welcome three stamps in its place: * Uncommitted
