Team members who needed to manage their family’s serving schedule used to have a choice: stay in Church Center and miss household scheduling, or jump between Church Center and Services. That isn’t how it should work. Your family’s schedule should be accessible anywhere.

Previously, there was no way in Church Center to view household serving schedules or respond to requests for household members.

Not anymore.

Today, we’re bringing household scheduling to Church Center on both web and mobile.

How it works

See your household's schedule

Head to Info & Settings from your Me page, then look for the new Household Scheduling option. Open it and flip on "Include household members in my schedule." Once it's on, your Me and My Schedule pages will show volunteer requests, signup opportunities, and confirmed shifts for people in your household whose schedule you can manage, each with an avatar so you know who's who.

Sign up for them

If you have permission to manage someone's schedule within your household (adults automatically have for minors in their household), you can sign them up for available positions directly from Church Center. You'll see the times for each position, just like in Services.

Manage household permissions

On the Household Scheduling page, you can navigate to the household actions section which lets you set who can manage your schedule, request permission to manage others, or opt-in to be carbon copied in email communications for minors in your household. Keep everything organized in one place.

Why this matters

Church Center is where your church engages in church life. When families have to split their attention between multiple apps just to manage their households serving schedule, the experience breaks down. Now they don’t have to. Parents can confirm their kids’ shifts. Spouses can sign up or respond to scheduling requests on behalf of each other.

Try it out

Head to your Me page in Church Center (web or mobile). If you're part of a household with other volunteers, you'll see the new household schedule option. Toggle it on and start seeing your family's full picture. Set your permissions in household settings.
