On the updated appearance page in Publishing, now you can see everything that affects your church’s look and feel in one place. Navigation, start page, and theme settings all live together in a single, unified layout instead of being split across separate tabs, so you can preview all your changes — in both light and dark mode — in one view before publishing.

A web interface for customizing a church app, showing navigation options and an in-app preview with text and button examples.

Draft mode is also now available for theme changes as well as navigation updates. Save your draft navigation and theme changes together and preview them in the app and on the web using preview mode.

Alongside the redesign, we've added a new app header color setting with two options:

  • Theme — keeps your custom brand color in the header, just like before

  • Neutral — uses a plain background (white in light mode, dark gray in dark mode) for a cleaner, more modern look

Mobile app theme customization interface with color selection, light and dark mode options, and a preview of the app design with a header and buttons.

Churches wanting a more native, modern feel in their app now have that option without giving up their brand color elsewhere. And the updated preview means less guesswork; you’ll see your header, navigation, and theme together before publishing your changes.

Find all the changes in the Customize section of Publishing. The updated preview is available to everyone; the app header color setting is available on Plus and Premium plans.
