Chat is one of the best ways for a group to stay connected between meetings. Until now, managing Chat settings could only be done from the web. Now, group leaders with permission can enable chat for their group right from the Church Center app, no computer required.
How does it work?

Open your group in the Church Center app and tap Group chat settings. Turn on Enable chat for this group, then choose who can start new conversations: Only leaders (default) or Members and leaders. You can now start conversations with your group!

Admins: You decide whether leaders get this option, and you set it per group type. In Group types, open a group type's Settings and check Allow leaders to enable chat for their group under Chat. Turn it on and every leader in that group type can enable chat themselves. Leave it unchecked and chat stays admin-managed, just like before.
Why is this helpful?
If you’re already in Church Center, you shouldn't have to hop on a computer or wait on someone else just to get a conversation going. Now enabling chat happens in the same place you already manage your group, so you can turn it on the moment you're ready to connect with your people.
Less setup, more connection.
