When a group is closed, the default message doesn’t always tell people what’s really happening—or what they should do next. Now admins can write a custom closed message that appears on the group’s Church Center page.

Make “closed” more helpful

Use the message to explain that a group is full or temporarily unavailable, invite someone to check back later, or point them toward another next step—like contacting a leader, completing a form, or exploring other groups.

To add one, open the group’s Settings and enter your message in Custom closed message.

Instead of a dead end, people get clear expectations and a helpful path forward.

Closed doesn’t have to mean “nothing to see here.”
