You are busy, and automations are a great way to streamline manual work that happens at your church! We just added a new action in automations for Request to join a group! This opens up some great use cases, like:
Creating a new task for admins when a new person has requested to join a group, so they can serve as a back up in case leaders can't reach out in time.
Using a People form to ask questions to get to know someone then routing them to request to join a group (e.g. new church members).
Sending an email template with a Registration URL if group members need a book or to register kids for childcare.
How does this work in Groups?
In the Automations tab, in the When a person... section: choose the Requests to join this group option, and then setup your action to perform.

In the Create automation flow, you can choose Request to join group in the action section, and then choose which Group to use.
