You can now require approval for events on a calendar without sending your staff through an event request form on Church Center. Event approval is configured from your calendar settings so that you can set up different approval requirements for different campuses or ministries. To get started, open your calendar settings, then choose “Edit” on the calendar you want to require approval for. Turn on Require event approval and then choose one or more approval groups. From then on, new events on that calendar stay pending until each approval group signs off.

Pending events show on the calendar in yellow so your team can see what's coming, but they stay off Church Center, iCal feeds, and kiosks until they're approved. Approvers get an email when an event needs their review, and the event owner hears back once it's approved or declined.
Why this matters
- Review public events before they go out. Your communications director or senior pastor can check events on the public-facing calendar before they reach Church Center, while ministry leaders keep adding events freely to their own calendars.
- Approve events that don't need a room. Staff PTO, off-site outreach, and team meetings can now go through approval, even with no room or resource booked.
- One process instead of two. Staff don't have to leave Calendar to fill out a request form on Church Center. They create the event where they always do, and the approval happens behind the scenes.
- Room approval still happens alongside. If an event needs rooms or resources, those requests go to their approval groups at the same time as the event approval, so nothing waits on anything else.
