We know how much of a struggle it's been to tell which donations in campaign reports are connected to a pledge and which aren’t. Until now, the only way to get that breakdown was by juggling multiple exports and manually cross-referencing reports.

We’re happy to share that we’ve added a new “Pledged Status” field and filter in Pledge Campaign reports! Now you can quickly see which donations are pledged, beyond pledged, or non-pledged at the individual donation level. You’ll also find this new field included in the export so that you can analyze the data as needed.

Here is what each status means:

  • Pledged: The donation counts toward a pledge and reduces the balance. If a donation is larger than the remaining pledge, the full donation is still marked as pledged.

  • Beyond Pledged: The pledge is fully met, so the donation is entirely beyond the pledge commitment.

  • Non-pledged: The donation does not count toward a pledge, because no pledge was made.

Tips for reconciling with the Overview tab:

The gauge charts (green and purple arches)

  • "Pledged" + "Beyond Pledged" matches the total from pledgers on the Overview tab

  • "Non-pledged" matches the total from non-pledgers on the Overview tab

Pledged donations received (purple progress bar)

  • This summary includes only the portion of donations that fulfill pledge commitments. It does not include amounts donors give above and beyond.

  • This total may not always exactly match the total of donations marked as "Pledged" because if a donation is larger than the remaining pledge balance, the entire donation is marked as "Pledged."

  • Example:

    • Donor pledges $1,000.

    • They’ve given $850 so far.

    • Their next donation is $200.

      • The individual donation is marked "Pledged" because it completes the pledge commitment.

      • $150 counts toward the pledge commitment in the "Pledged Donations Received" progress bar. $50 is above and beyond, and is therefore not included.

Now it’s simpler and less error-prone to get the reporting you need!
