Musicians have enough to focus on without worrying about how to turn pages mid-song. That’s why we’ve introduced Facial Gesture Detection in Music Stand—a hands-free way to flip pages using natural facial expressions.

Whether your hands are full on a piano, guitar, or mic stand, you can now turn the page with just a mouth movement, a wink, or a head twist—no foot pedals or hand swipes needed.

Prefer a foot pedal? No problem—Music Stand still supports pedals and swipe gestures, so you can choose what works best for you.

What’s new

Turn pages hands-free using facial gestures while facing your device’s camera. Choose from:

  • Mouth Movement (left or right)
  • Head Twist (left or right)
  • Wink (left or right)

Each gesture works in both directions, letting you flip forward or back without lifting a finger.

How it works

Enabling facial gestures: Go to your Music Stand settings, scroll to the Control section, and select Facial Gesture. This will open the facial gesture modal, where you can enable and configure your gesture settings.

Gesture modes: Select your preferred facial gesture and adjust the sensitivity to match your comfort level.

.

Preview gesture detection: Use the built-in gesture preview to test your facial gestures and fine-tune sensitivity settings before using them during a session.

Turn pages & quick settings access: While viewing charts in a plan, use your enabled facial gestures to turn pages hands-free. To adjust your settings, tap the screen to access the toolbar settings, then select the Facial Gesture Settings icon to modify gestures or sensitivity as needed.

Device support

This feature works best on devices with front-facing camera support. Some older iPads may have limited compatibility based on their support for Facial Detection.

Try it now

Grab the latest version of Music Stand from the App Store or Google Play and start flipping pages with a smile, a nod, or a cheeky wink 😉—no hands required!
