Being able to create and edit labels for all printers is a big deal. That's why we've been spending some more time improving our Universal Printing experience. First up, you can now easily access the labels page by clicking the new "Labels" tab in the top bar. Yeah, it's that big of a deal, and it's worth it.
If you don't see that Label tab, make sure you enable Universal Printing.
We've also made a few changes to how we're handling text:
Text & Line Resizing
Click on any element, and you'll see some square boxes on the corner of each element that'll let you resize the box. And the text inside will shrink to fit with you.
On top of that, we've made our font sizes more generic. Instead of using 7pt, 8pt, etc... we now have generic words to help describe how large or small the font will be. This makes each label more "true" as a 7pt font on a Dymo label may be slightly bigger than a 7pt font on a Zebra. I know, I know, it sounds pedantic, but our app is built by people who care about these details 😄.
Shrink to Fit with Wrap
Lastly, we've added the ability to have a field that can shrink-to-fit AND text wrap. This is honestly a very important feature, specifically built for those with a lot of medical notes. You'll see below in this sample label, that the medical note fields on the bottom can now span over two lines. Also, if the text was even more than that, we would start to shrink-to-fit, so all of the text stays on the label.
